Oluwadabira Abiola-Awe

Oluwadabira is the Regional Manager for Africa at the World Energy Council. Oluwadabira is responsible for strengthening the council’s member committees for Africa, developing and strengthening relationships with regional stakeholders.

Previously, Oluwadabira was leading on regional partnerships and strategy in Sub-Saharan Africa at the world’s largest organisation working with youth on energy. She was responsible for new partnerships and fund development for the international growth of the organisation. With almost 8 years of experience as a young leader in energy, Oluwadabira has worked on issues ranging from the global energy transition, technology development and innovation for energy access in the Global South, green jobs and livelihood, clean cooking, entrepreneurship, women and youth participation in the energy sector and policy development.

She has supported and raised funds for initiatives that have launched over 5,000 community-led energy solutions and businesses in Africa. She is the youngest African woman to sit on the advisory board of the Global Alliance for Sustainable Energy and is also a member of the Youth Task Force for RES4Africa, one of the foremost foundations supporting Africa’s just energy transition. She is an internationally recognised youth leader, public speaker, stakeholder manager and fundraiser.
