Organised by the World Energy Council Italy.
Building on the discussions from the 2025 kick-off meeting of the Initiative, here is a summary for the key agreed-upon topics that will contribute to updating the Initiative's transition checklist:
- Energy Security: Diversifying sources and geographical areas while considering macroeconomic aspects
- Technology Roadmaps: Pursuing and preserving a technology neutrality approach
- Acceptability and education: Education and skills creation as catalyst for regional energy transformation
- Financing the Energy Transition in the Mediterranean – A key focus area for in-depth analysis

Furthermore, we are pleased to announce that the next in-person WEC MED Initiative meeting will be held on June 24, 2025, in Istanbul. Further details will be shared in due course.
