Portugal Energy Conference 2024

On Thursday, 12 December 2024, organised by the Portuguese Energy Association - the Portugal Energy Conference 2024 - under the theme "Energy | People | Cities", bringing together companies public administration and experts in the sector and related areas. The Conference aims to promote debate on the challenges and opportunities of the sector which plays a key role in society, the economy and the environment.

The EPA thus seeks to encourage innovative and sustainable solutions that respond to Portugal's needs and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Composed of three thematic panels: Energy and People, Energy and Cities and Energy and Future, the Conference aims to explore the interaction of the energy sector with the different spheres of public and business life and, in particular, with people, as consumers and as a community.

The opening session will feature the intervention, already confirmed, of the Secretary of State for Energy, Maria  João Pereira, providing the political framework for the debates that will follow. 

One of the highlights of this edition will be the presentation of the study "Consumer's Perspective in the Context of the Transition Energética", carried out in partnership with Accenture.

The first panel, "People", will feature the participation of Isabel Apolinário, Director of ERSE; Hugo Gouveia, Director of EDP Comercial; João Diogo Silva, Director of Galp Comercial; and Ana Tapadinhas, General Director of DECO.

The second panel, "Cities", will have as guest speaker José Ribau Esteves, Mayor of Aveiro, and will bring together Miguel de Castro Neto, President of Lisboa E-Nova; Luísa Matos, CEO of Cleanwatts; Gabriel Sousa, CEO of Floene and José Ferrari Careto, CEO of E-Redes.

The afternoon panel, "Future of Energy" will start with the vision of Paula Abreu Marques, from the Commission's Directorate-General for Energy.
