Renewable Energy Sources and Energy Storage: Present and Future

On Thursday, 22 May 2025, at the Timișoara Regional Business Center of the Timiș Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.

The conference aims to bring to the fore the latest information from the legislative and regulatory framework of the field of renewable energy and energy storage solutions. The event will address key topics such as the implementation of European directives in the field of renewable energy, investment support and incentive mechanisms, financing possibilities, integration of grid storage capacities, as well as the impact of new regulations on the energy market. Updated legislative perspectives, solutions for harmonising the regulatory framework and challenges regarding the flexibility and security of the energy system will be presented. The fiscal aspects of the industry will be debated.

THE TOPICS OF INTEREST ARE MADE UP OF:

  • Legislative, fiscal and regulatory aspects to support the development of renewable energy and storage projects;
  • Legislative aspects to support the development of hydrogen production in Romania, latest measures.
  • Concrete solutions for reimbursable and non-reimbursable financing for renewable energy technology projects and BESS (battery energy storage system);
  • Return on investment in renewable energy sources.
  • Recovery of the equivalent value of the surplus electricity debited by prosumers in SEN.

THE EXPECTED RESULTS INCLUDE:

  • Clarifying the impact of the European legislative framework on the development of renewable generation capacities and energy storage solutions;
  • Identify the main legal and regulatory barriers that hinder the optimal integration of renewable energy sources and propose concrete measures to eliminate them.

  • Promoting financial support mechanisms and market instruments dedicated to accelerating investments in storage infrastructure;
  • Developing a set of recommendations on improving the regulatory framework in order to support the achievement of the decarbonization and energy independence targets.
