On Friday, 26 July 2024 from 10:45 am - 1:00 pm (Chile)
World Energy Council Chile together with the Adolfo Ibáñez University (UAI), are hosting the next Energy Talks that will take place between 10:45 am and 1:00 pm. at Av. Presidente Errázuriz 3485, Las Condes, Sede Errázuriz UAI - Sala Valparaíso. The Cybersecurity Framework Law, already published in the Official Gazette and whose entry into force is expected to occur in the short term, will have a significant impact on those entities that qualify as providers of essential services or operators of vital importance. In this sense, entities in the energy generation, transmission and distribution sector, in their capacity as providers of essential services, must adapt to the institutionality, principles and duties of the new regulatory scheme to strengthen the cybersecurity and resilience of their infrastructures. The preparation of energy entities is key in this regulatory framework, which complements the current sectoral regulatory framework, and expands the regulatory ecosystem that is applicable to them. During this meeting, we will address, through a panel of experts, the key issues of the new law and its practical application to the energy sector, taking into consideration the current sectoral regulation in this area and the challenges that its implementation entails.
