Arup latest World Energy Council partner for Scenarios study

 

 

The World Energy Council and Arup have recently signed an agreement on the global engineering firm becoming a Project Supporter for the World Energy Scenarios flagship study with a special focus on urban innovation.

Christoph Frei, Secretary General of the World Energy Council, said: “Arup will be providing associated perspectives and analysis on a selection of resources areas that include e-storage, e-mobility, energy efficiency, solar energy, waste-to-energy, energy-water-food nexus and resilience. With 10,000 projects going on across the globe at any one time, Arup brings a wealth of worldwide experience to our scenarios work.”

Arup and the World Energy Council will collaborate to analyse how different key urban drivers will play into different energy scenarios. It is a partnership which brings together the expertise of the World Energy Council global network of leaders and practitioners and Arup’s strong capabilities and experience within urban energy from its own activities in innovation and technology.  The new and ongoing partnership will see the release of an urban innovation report towards the end of 2016.

The role of Project Supporter will help strengthen our capabilities as well as encourage city leaders to make informed decisions about the various forms of urban energy.
