The conference, organised by WEC Bulgaria and held on 4–5 June, highlighted how Bulgarian energy policies have provided a boost to energy business and investment. The programme covered the new emissions trading scheme (to start from 2013), financial support for renewables, large-scale European gas and electricity projects, and the current process of creating independent transmission operators.
The WEC’s regional manager for Europe, Slav Slavov, presented the latest findings of the WEC assessment of country energy and climate policies, focusing on the case of Bulgaria.
