World Energy Council Launches Inclusive Energy Conversations with WE Talks
The World Energy Council has launched WE Talks, a brand new platform for engaging a wide range of inspirational and inclusive leadership voices in conversation on global energy transition.
There is a pressing need for fresh and more inclusive conversations about global energy transition that bring together diverse voices and perspectives from both within and outside the energy community. With
WE Talks, the Council has created space for energy conversations that are human, accessible and relevant to all, with a vision of changing the way we talk about energy.
This collection of narratives and stories drawn from different regions and sectors illustrates the social impacts and human level implications of global energy transition. In the series launch episode, Dr Angela Wilkinson reflects on the need for an unprecedented level of cooperation, and a coming together of diverse perspectives, interests and capabilities, so that we can learn with and from each other.
“Energy transition is a conversation that is relevant to everyone, but it can be difficult to cut through the technical jargon,” said Dr Angela Wilkinson, World Energy Council Secretary General and CEO. “WE Talks opens the door to inspirational voices of the energy-plus community who are shaping and impacted by energy development, but don’t yet have a seat at the decision table. It’s about plugging people and society into the conversation and shifting focus from the powers that ‘be’ to the power of ‘we’.”
WE Talks is presented by Eithne Treanor, who has also come on board as the Executive Chair for WE Talks.
