World Energy Council welcomes Abengoa as Global Partner

As a Global Partner, Abengoa will play a key role in the world’s most influential energy network

16 February 2015, London – The World Energy Council has welcomed Abengoa, an international company that applies innovative technology solutions for sustainability in the energy and environment sectors, as the newest member of its Global Partner programme.

Abengoa will contribute its experience as a leading player in both renewable energy and efficient conventional generation, as well as power transmission and distribution. Abengoa will join the Council’s partner organisations who work with specific regional and national networks in supporting the Council’s work programmes, in addressing essential issues such as the energy trilemma, scenarios and resources.

Christoph Frei, Secretary General of the World Energy Council, commented: “The World Energy Council’s Global Partners provide valuable insights for our international and regional dialogues especially in today’s uncertain context for the energy sector. We are pleased to welcome Abengoa, one of the main international technology company in the power sector, into our Global Partners community.”

Abengoa will inaugurate its engagement with the World Energy Council at the Africa Energy Indaba, the Council’s annual regional event for Africa. At the Indaba Guillermo Bravo, Senior Vice President, Strategic Relations at Abengoa, will speak tomorrow at the Council’s Indaba Energy Leaders’ Dialogue, an exclusive invitation-only forum.

As a Global Partner of the Council, Abengoa will also be actively engaged in the activities of its national member committees in Mexico, South Africa, and the United States.
