Ahmed Abdelaziz

MSc Student & Research fellow

Ahmed Abdelaziz is an MSc degree student and research fellow in sustainability at Tsukuba University in Japan as a recipient of a Japanese government scholarship. His research focuses on energy transition particularly decarbonization policy in the oil sector. He holds an MSc degree in chemical engineering and a BSc in petroleum engineering from Egypt. His 9-year tenure in the oil industry spanned a wide range of specialties; gas processing, wells drilling, contracting and procurement, energy transition and environmental policy analysis in multiple joint ventures between the oil ministry of Egypt, Shell plc and Capricorn.

Ahmed is a fellow of the Egyptian President Leadership Program, he is a certified energy manager. He dedicates much of his energy towards climate mitigation advocacy as shown by his effective participation in COP2 7, a local conference of youth in Japan and his energy-climate policy analysis writings.
