Alexander Worner Papenberg

New Energies Leader at COPEC S.A., Copec S.A

Eng. Alexander Worner Papenberg is currently working as the Leader of the New Energies team at Copec, one of Latin America's biggest liquid fuel distribution companies. Together with his team, he is in charge of designing the portfolio of new renewable energy solutions in order to transform the company and successfully face the energy transition.

In the last few years, the team has achieved big milestones. These include the acquisition of a renewable energy trader and a solar EPC company, the acquisition of a 105 MW solar plant and a contract to install 450 MWh of Storage, the installation of Chile’s first industrial Behind the Meter Storage System, implementation of Chile’s first Hydrogen Fuel Cell Bus, among others. Together with the company’s Corporate Venture Capital, they have also deployed +150 MM USD in 20 cleantech startups in four different continents.

Alexander has more than 5 years of experience in the renewable energy industry. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and has been working in the energy industry ever since.
