David Arinze
Lead, Off-Grid Energy
David is a renewable energy expert with about a decade’s experience in the deployment of innovative solutions cutting across Power Generation, Transmission, Distribution and Off-Grid Energy with a patent in the design of solar-powered electric vehicles. He is a professional with multinational experience in policy design and clean energy project implementation which provides energy access to deprived markets. He currently leads the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) off-grid energy portfolio in Nigeria.
He is an Advisor on the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Global Sustainable Energy Governance team and a Financing and Deploying Clean Energy (FDCE) Program Scholar at Yale University, USA. He spearheaded the development and implementation of over 200 donor-funded renewable energy projects such as solar mini-grids, solar home systems, clean cooking, Solar PV and inverter manufacturing, biogas, energy-health and agriculture nexus projects. The impact of his work in the renewable energy sector has made him a leading voice, policy, and research contributor in Africa, with features on several global stages, and media platforms such as CNN, BBC, Aljazeera, and United Nations TV.
