Helen Jarva
Project Manager, Energy Networks Association
Born in Estonia, Helen Jarva has lived and worked in three countries and speaks six languages. Her passion is to facilitate a just and sustainable energy transition to mitigate the effects of climate change and achieve a good quality of life for all. Helen works as Project Manager of the UK’s world leading Open Networks programme. A key driver in the UK’s Net Zero efforts, Open Networks has built the world’s largest energy flexibility market from the ground up. Helen has over three years’ experience in the energy industry, including project management, metering, and small-scale renewable export. Driven by her passion for energy and the environment, Helen has volunteered with UK Aid in Kenya and completed the UpRising Environmental Leadership programme in London. After earning a first-class honours degree and award for the best dissertation in Psychology from the University of Surrey, Helen turned her academic focus to energy and environmental policy and economics. She will be graduating with a first-class masters degree in Sustainable Development from the University of Sussex in 2023.
