Lala Rukh is a PhD researcher in Civil Engineering at the University of Galway. Her PhD project focuses on the interrelationships between operational energy demand practices, internal environmental conditions in buildings, individuals occupying buildings, materials, and technology used to retrofit buildings. Previously, she earned a master’s degree in Energy Systems Engineering (2018) and a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (2016) from Mehran University of Engineering & Technology, Pakistan. In addition to her formal education, she participated in a summer school at Robinson College - University of Cambridge (2022) and completed a semester of study in the United States as part of a cultural exchange program called Global UGRAD (2015). Their first master’s research was a joint project with the British Council and Coventry University, United Kingdom, which allowed her to conduct research at Coventry University. During the summer of 2019, she was invited to participate in the Nobel Laureates Meeting in Lindau, Germany, focusing on Physics, where they engaged with young scientists, physicists, and researchers worldwide.
