Martin Heissenberger is a highly motivated young energy professional with a thorough management and research interest in the energy sector. His diverse academic background, holding an MSc in engineering and a BSc in economics, has been instrumental in shaping projects and initiatives both at VERBUND Green Power and the World Energy Council Austria. Martin has been officially affiliated with the WEC Austria since March 2023 and has actively contributed to various initiatives, among them the European Regional Deep Dive and the organization of the centenary celebration. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor and Young Energy Professional (national FEL), he has also participated as a Congress FEL and part of the Austrian delegation at the World Energy Congress in Rotterdam. In his current role as an Energy Economics Expert, Martin operates within a multinational team spanning five countries, where he strategically aligns technology and business to enhance operational efficiency and drive forward the energy transition. Within the last couple of years, he has held various positions in academia, industry, and public administration in the energy sector as well as economic policy.
