Nirmal KC is from Nepal and has been working in the Energy Division of the Water and Energy Commission Secretariat (WECS), a policy advisory body of the Government of Nepal in Water Resources and Energy Sectors. He had completed his undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering and had worked in a hydropower developer company in Nepal. After joining the government entity WECS in July 2023, he has been involved in various energy-related research and capacity-building work such as energy synopsis, energy efficiency, energy audit, GESI study, and clean energy transition. He has been actively organizing training in energy audits for provincial and local level stakeholders. Additionally, he has been conducting research in clean energy transition collaborating with his colleagues at the energy division of WECS. He aims to flourish knowledge and information on the application of clean and green energy technology in all economic sectors (industrial, commercial, and residential) of Nepal so that Nepal’s renewable energy potential can be fully utilized in the overall development of the nation.
