Uruguay: Future Energy Leaders' Workshops
The National Future Energy Leaders Uruguay, with its focus on developing energy literacy and fostering impactful dialogues, is conducting energy workshops in high schools across Uruguay since 2022. 10 workshops have been conducted so far, with more planned in the future.
The workshops are specifically designed for fourth-year high school students who are at a key stage in their educational journey looking towards potential vocational futures.
These address various aspects of energy, such as its definition, consumption, sources, and the environmental and economic impacts of energy. It also covers important issues like renewable energy, decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and the progress of the energy transition in Uruguay.
Led by volunteer young professionals in the energy sector, the workshop aims to raise awareness about energy and its significance on our daily lives.
The NFEL Uruguay program started in 2022, and currently comprises 25 young Uruguayan energy professional from across the sector. Drawing from young professionals, private and public sectors, academia and community initiative leaders, the program supports the Uruguayan Member Committee by convening critical cross-sectoral meetings and sharings of expertise knowledge.
